Successful Removal of Glass Bottle from Patient’s Stomach at BHC Hospital
BHC Hospital successfully performed a complex surgical procedure to remove a glass bottle from the stomach of a patient. The 40-year-old patient, Mr. Shivanarayan Sah, a resident of Birgunj-18, Bhawanipur, was admitted to BHC Hospital on October 1 with severe abdominal discomfort.
During diagnostic imaging, our medical team was astonished to find a glass bottle inside his stomach. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Dr. Ashif Ansari, Senior Consultant of Gastro & Laparoscopic Surgery, promptly conducted an emergency surgical procedure. The operation involved carefully opening the intestines to safely extract the bottle while ensuring minimal complications.
After undergoing intensive post-operative care at BHC Hospital, the patient responded well to treatment and was discharged after nearly two weeks of recovery. The hospital is committed to patient well-being and is closely monitoring the case. Investigations are ongoing to determine how the foreign object ended up inside the patient’s body.
Mr. Sah himself expressed his shock, stating that he had no recollection of how the bottle entered his stomach. “I only became aware of it after the doctors informed me. Before that, I was experiencing severe pain in my abdomen and rectum,” he shared.
BHC Hospital remains dedicated to providing advanced medical care with cutting-edge surgical expertise.
